- Using appropriate skin care products
There are several skin care products available over the counter – so many that it can be overwhelming. When choosing the skincare products for at home use, it’s important to make sure the products you’re using don’t have harmful ingredients that could harm your skin in other ways or even worse, make your pores look larger. Those who have large pores, typically have dirt and oil that build up in them. It’s important to remove the dirt and oil and you can do so with products like charcoal soap. Charcoal binds itself to up to 800 times its weight in dirt and oil pulling it out of the pores like a vacuum. Imagine how much dirt and oil it could rid for you!
- Using retinol
Retinol promotes the turnover of skin cells. As new skin forms, the cells are unclogged making them appear smaller. Again, when finding a product with retinol, you want to make sure that there aren’t other ingredients that harm your skin. At Alazzo Med Spa, we recommend using Image Skincare. If you’re not sure which product to use, we carry several of them and would love to discuss which would be best for pore reduction and your skin type.
- Using a Clarisonic brush
When using Clarisonic, a handheld electric brush, you can clean up to 6 times more makeup and be twice as effective when compared to manual cleansing. Removing the dirt from your face allows the pores to be cleaned and reduces the size of them. When choosing a Clarisonic system, it’s important to make sure you’re getting the appropriate brush for your skin type.
- Getting medical aesthetic treatments
There are multiple aesthetic treatments, such as MicroResurfacing and chemical peels, that can help improve the look of your pores. Each of these treatments work to remove dead cells and promote new skin cell growth. At Alazzo Med Spa, we provide MicroResurfacing with the DermaSweep™. The DermaSweep™ exfoliates the skin and vacuums the dead skin cells resulting in new cell growth. The chemical peel promotes new cell growth with a chemical solution that is applied to the skin that makes the skin peel. Each of these help reduce pore size.
