MicroResurfacing & Chemical Peels
MicroResurfacing with the DermaSweep™ MD is a technological advancement in the treatment of specific skin conditions and the improvement of overall skin appearance and health. As we age skin cell reproduce at a slower rate resulting in uneven skin tone, rough feeling texture, fine lines and wrinkles. By removing the dead skin cells on the surface we can stimulate the body to produce new skin cells giving you a more youthful, smoother, softer look and feel that’s close to truly ageless skin.
Q: How does the DermaSweep™ MD work?
A: With a multiple level vacuum system and a variety of treatment tips, the DermaSweep™ wand gently lifts the skin and exfoliates the topmost layer of skin. The vacuum system removes the dead skin cells into a closed container. The underlying skin is left smoother as the action of the wand stimulates the flow of blood encouraging collagen production, cleansing the pores and moving the skin debris into the HEPA filer. The action of the wand will also tone and firm the epidermis. Due to the unique vacuum method this Microdermabrasion machine is safe for clients that suffer from vascular problems that were once contraindicated in a procedure such as this.
Q: What type of skin conditions does the DermaSweep™ treat?
A: The DermaSweep™ treats
- Uneven skin tone
- Early aging lines and wrinkles
- Sun damage
- Pre-PDT treatment
- Surgical Scars
- Overall Skin Health
Q: How does the DermaSweep™ work to reduce early signs of aging and specific skin conditions?
A: DermaSweep™ specially formulated Epi-infusion treatments combine exfoliation with delivery of skin specific topical solutions. These solutions are simultaneously applied to the skin under vacuum pressure during the exfoliation process. The solution chosen will target specific skin conditions or a combination of skin conditions such as acne, dehydration or hyperpigmentation.
Q: How does the DermaSweep™ differ from other Microdermabrasion machines?
A: The DermaSweep™ uses an assortment of tips with varying degrees of bristles. These bristles can be customized to an individual to gain a specific result without the crystal debris that you find with other machines or the risk of micro abrasions. The DermaSweep™ also utilizes a vacuum technique that gently pulls the skin upward instead of pressing the ward downward compressing and irritating vessels.
Q: What does it feel like?
A: The treatment is painless and feels like a gentle vacuum. You may experience mild tightening, warmth, and/or tingling after the treatment. The moisture of any topical infusions will leave your skin feeling cool and refreshed while the exfoliation process renders the skin smooth to the touch.
Q: How long does a treatment take?
A: We schedule an hour to an hour and a half for our MicroResurfacing treatments. The neck area is included in each treatment and to complete the experience we combine the exfoliation and infusion process with a massage and hand treatment.
Q: What do I need to do after the treatment? Is there any downtime?
A: Your skin will have a pink glow after the treatment and needs to be protected. We recommend an SPF 35 on a daily basis. You can return to work or resume your normal activity immediately. A treatment regimen will be discussed tailored to your specific needs at your appointment.
Q: How long before I see results?
A: Typically results are noticed after the first treatment. However, lasting and more significant results will often occur after 4 to 6 treatments spaced 2 weeks apart. Results are protected with daily use of sunscreen and a skin care regimen designed for your specific skin type.
Q: Are there any other procedures that do the same as MicroResurfacing?
A: Chemical Peels are a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin. A chemical solution is applied to the skin for approximately 5-10 minutes, which causes the skin to eventually peel. The new regenerated skin is usually smoother and has a brighter, more youthful appearance. Click here to see a list of peels used at Alazzo Med Spa.
