Given that the official start of spring was just over a month ago (March 20th), spring skin should still be on your mind. There’s no better time than the present to start prepping your skin for the sunny skies, rising temperatures and the humidity that lies ahead. At Alazzo Med Spa, we recommend prepping by doing these four things:
Lighten your load
You’ve put away the fur-lined hoods and boots, the heavy sweaters and scarves, now it’s time to put away your heavy skin products too. We understand that there are certain products that help protect your skin in the winter, but these can also weigh you down in humid weather. It’s important to swap your winter products for something light, like an oil-free moisturizer with SPF that will keep you moisturized without the excess oil. We recommend products from Image Skincare.
The snow, rain, wind and colder temperatures can cause season-long buildup of environmental toxins, dead skin cells and leftover product. It’s important to exfoliate at the beginning of spring. We recommend MicroResurfacing to spring clean your skin.
Apply, and re-apply, your sunscreen
After spending several months wrapped from head to toe, slathering on sunscreen shouldn’t be in question. During the spring, you are at a higher risk for sunburns and sun damage for two reasons. 1 – your skin has been covered during winter so it is fair. 2 – because the weather is still mild, you may not notice just how much sun you are getting. Be preventative with Botox®
Without a doubt, you’ll be in the sun much more. When we’re in the sun, we have the tendency to squint. This causes lines between our eyes and at the corners of our eyes. These lines are better known as 11s and crow’s feet. To prevent these lines from becoming permanent, we recommend that you get Botox®. Botox® relaxes your muscle so that it doesn’t contract a lot which is what causes wrinkles. At Alazzo Med Spa, we give you a natural look with all injectables, including Botox®.
