Several years ago, fat reduction and body contouring was mainly done through invasive procedures such as liposuction. Over the past decade, there has been a shift towards non-surgical solutions. At Alazzo Med Spa, we understand the patient demand for these non-surgical solutions and as a result, we have recently added UltraShape and VelaShape to our body contouring services.
UltraShape and Velashape complement each other and are a great solution for loose skin, excess fat and cellulite. The main difference between the two is that VelaShape offers circumference reduction of the entire body, cellulite reduction and skin tightening while the UltraShape selectively targets and destroys fat cells. They both are non-invasive, comfortable treatments with no downtime.
The UltraShape Technology
The UltraShape sends pulsed focused ultrasound to selectively destroy fat cells without the use of heat. The ultrasound frequency goes into the designated focal point at the subcutaneous fat layer. The focal point is the only area affected. There will be no inflammation or harm done to the structures around the focal point such as blood vessels, nerves and connective tissue. In addition to the ultrasound frequency, the UltraShape uses a Vertical Dynamic Focus (VDF) transducer that can target multiple depths in a single pulse.
The energy created during this treatment destroys the walls of the fat cells and releases them into the body in the form of triglycerides. The triglycerides are processed through the liver and eliminated naturally. Since the fat cells are destroyed and not shrunk like they are with weight loss, results are often seen as quickly as 2 weeks after the first treatment.
The VelaShape Technology
The VelaShape integrates several different technologies: infrared light, bi-polar radio frequency energy and vacuum. This combination of technology causes heating of the fat cells, the surrounding connective tissue and dermal collagen fibers. The combination of heat and vacuum stimulates the growth of new collagen and elastin in the treated area which provides a reduction in skin laxity, body volume and improves the skins structure and texture.
The technology of the VelaShape will gradually smooth the skins surface, providing a noticeable reduction in cellulite and will reduce the circumference of the area while reshaping it. Results can typically be seen in 3 sessions.
