How young is too young for Botox™? We’re seeing a lot of younger women, ages 22-25, getting Botox™. Are they too young? Do they really need it?
Here at Alazzo Med Spa, we think that in regards to Botox™, age is nothing but a number. So why are women getting Botox™ so “young”? Botox™ can not only be corrective but it can be preventative as well. When you hear of Botox™, you probably think that it’s just a way to get rid of wrinkles but this isn’t always the case. It can actually be used to inhibit the wrinkles from developing which is why it’s often used as a preventative measure.
How does Botox™ work?
Botox™ is an injectable that relaxes the muscle that causes wrinkles. As we age, our skin loses its elasticity so when we make certain facial expressions, the repeated contraction causes a persistent line. Relaxing the muscle prevents the line from being formed which in turn prevents the wrinkle.
What if I don’t have persistent lines?
If you don’t have persistent lines, you can still use Botox™ to prevent the persistent line from forming. The earlier you get Botox™, the less you will need in the future in terms of frequency and the amount of Botox™.
Where is Botox™ used?
Botox™ is typically used to treat forehead lines and “11’s” – vertical lines between the eyebrows. Botox™ smooths the fine lines and wrinkles in these areas giving you younger looking skin.
Will you be able to tell that I have Botox™?
Once you receive treatment, it could take up to 2 weeks for the Botox™ to set up. Even after it’s set up, you won’t be able to tell that you have it if treatment is performed at a knowledgeable and skilled clinic like Alazzo Med Spa.
If you have any other questions about how Botox™ can you help you prevent or correct wrinkles and fine lines, feel free to contact us or come in for a free consultation. We’d be happy to evaluate your skin and address your questions regarding Botox™ regardless of your age!
