Step 1
Your Consultation
Whatever brings you into Alazzo Med Spa, your visit is going to start with a thorough consultation. We discuss your medical history and your goals, then we perform an evaluation of your skin. This allows us to pinpoint damage, understand your dynamic wrinkles based on your facial expressions, and work with you to craft a custom treatment plan that may include Botox, Dysport, and/or other treatments and products.
Step 2
The Treatment
If we determine Botox or Dysport could help you achieve your goals, we can typically provide those injections during this same appointment. You will get comfortable in a treatment room and your Botox injector will mark the appropriate places for injections. Then, we will artfully place exactly the right dosage of the neurotoxin to smooth your wrinkles without giving you that “frozen” look.
Step 3
Aftercare and Follow-up
Our patients love Dysport and Botox in Frederick because it’s a quick and effective way to treat wrinkles and get back to your busy schedule. After injections, it can be typical to see some slight bruising, redness, or swelling at the injection site. Results from Botox typically take about 7 to 10 days to fully realize and last about 3-4 months. If after 2 weeks you aren’t satisfied or notice any unevenness, as our bodies’ muscle strength is asymmetrical, additional units can be administered.
Like Botox, professionals have used Dysport to fight wrinkles for decades. Dysport is different from Botox because of the particular formulation of the neuromodulator. It is still based off of the same botulinum toxin and functions the same way as Botox. Ultimately, the difference between Dysport and Botox comes down to how and when providers use them for their patients. When you visit us for your consultation, we’ll discuss whether one or the other (or both!) is best for you.
Thankfully, Botox and Dysport are both extremely safe medications with extraordinary track records for safe, effective treatment. Because it is a medication, though, some patients won’t qualify. Your provider will work with you to find alternatives if you…
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have had a previous allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product
- Have a skin infection at the injection site
