You won’t worry about shaving at all when on your tropical paradise celebrating your I-do’s. Tell your soon-to-be husband to join you for laser hair removal. He’ll feel great in his swimsuit, too! Bridal Guide suggests that you start treatment at least six months before the wedding.

Injectables can also give you fuller lips and more volume in your cheeks, giving you a youthful and healthy look. Give your face a smooth and supple look that will last a lifetime in your wedding pictures. One bride chronicles her experience with pre-nuptial Botox in Brides magazine.

Skin Treatments

You may want to consider micro-needling before the big day. This is a way to harness the body’s innate ability to re-grow and repair the skin as a response to micro-damage. Alleviating the appearance of surgical, acne and trauma scars. It also reduces the appearance of fine lines for a picture-perfect look on your wedding day.

Intense Pulse Light Therapy (IPL) gives the look of ageless skin. IPL creates a more even skin tone with a smoother and firmer finish. It uses a broad bank of light and intense pulses for an effective resolution of facial redness.  Whatever your skin issue is we can help improve your skin for your trip down the aisle.

With wedding season about to begin, we know that every bride is on the quest for the perfect day. Don’t stress and cause your skin to do crazy things. Come talk to us and get a plan in place. Don’t Fall for Fads

There are several options available today to treat just about any concern we have with our body but how many of them treat the root of the issue versus being a temporary fix?  In this blog, we’ll be discussing two more common concerns and the treatment that best treats the root of them.  After all, why put out money hand over fist when you are not treating the root, but simply masking it with a “quick fix”?

Unwanted Body Hair

It seems that we struggle with removing unwanted body hair daily. Men shave their faces just about every morning. Women must pay close attention to their legs and underarms, especially during swimsuit season, and sometimes even their chin. There are options for managing hair removal, but how many of them are addressing the regrowth of hair?

  1. Razors – There are different types of razors; wet, dry or electric and they work in different ways. However, the results are the same. Hair grows back in a matter of a day or two. Razors simply lift the hair a bit from under the surface of the skin and cut it. This leaves the root beneath the surface still growing. The result is in a day or so, you need to shave again to achieve the smooth skin you desire.
  2. Wax – Hot wax (hopefully not so hot that it burns you) is applied to the skin. Cloth strips are used to pull the wax off in the opposite direction of hair growth. This rips the hairs out and gives smooth skin for a couple of weeks. While this lasts longer than shaving, it can be very painful and isn’t good for every part of the body. Waxing is recommended for the upper lip and eyebrow areas only.
  3. Depilatory – Have you ever heard of the cream that uses a chemical to “dissolve” hair? Really, it’s a horrible smelling cream that essentially chemically burns the hair. Do not use a depilatory for all areas of the body. You can use it for the bikini area, armpit or upper lip. The depilatory can last a few days to a week.
  4. Laser hair removal – According to Gillette, this is the “hair removal method that gets the job done. For real!” Laser hair removal uses an intense heat from a laser to target the melanin found in hair follicles. This prevents the hair from growing. You can use laser hair removal on just about the entire body. Depending on your body and how your hair grows, depends on how many treatments you may need. This is the most permanent hair removal method available and addresses the root of the issue at hand – hair re-growth.

Abnormal Hormone Levels

As we age, our bodies change and our hormones change, too. For women, there are several options for hormone replacement. Mayo Clinic explains that estrogen comes in pills, patches, gels, creams, and sprays. Unfortunately, these hormones are not something naturally occurring in the body and are made from horse urine and are chemically-steroidal.

Men have options for hormone replacement as well. WebMD tells us about the skin patches, gels and mouth patches available for testosterone replacement. However, there are many drawbacks to the different types of hormone therapy for men. Whether it be tenderness at the application site, inconsistent levels, frequent injections or gum and mouth pain. More information about drawbacks, from a Harvard expert, is available for your review.

When you are ready to look at hormone replacement therapy, we recommend that you consider Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BIHRT). With BIHRT, we provide an adequate supply of a deficient hormone in a form that is molecularly identical to that which your body produces, restoring your body’s normal healthy physiological effects. We are getting to the root of the issue and correcting it in a way that is natural to your body. We use T-pellets to deliver a slow steady release of hormones into the bloodstream. This allows your body to receive a constant level of hormones that are identical to our own chemical makeup. Depending on your body, we can keep you level for up to 4 months at a time. The application is simple and painless. We trust that you will love the new you and getting back to feeling like yourself while addressing the root of your abnormal hormone levels..

To learn more about either laser hair removal or BIHRT, please contact us to schedule a consultation. We are happy to answer any questions and discuss our processes with you. We look forward to helping you get to the root of things.

It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere

“It’s 5 o’clock somewhere!” We’ve all heard and have probably said it a few times ourselves. We say this to justify that we can enjoy an adult beverage despite the time of day. In fact, we may have found ourselves joyously singing the Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffet song about it. When you’re telling yourself “it’s 5 o’clock somewhere”, it shouldn’t bring you down with thoughts about your 5 o’clock shadow! At Alazzo Med Spa, we help you get rid of your 5 o’clock shadow with laser hair removal. So when it is 5 o’clock somewhere, you can have a good time and not be self-conscious.

What is a 5 o’clock shadow?

5 o’clock shadows appear from the dark stubble that is left under your skin after shaving. When you shave, you’re only removing the hair from the surface of your skin. The pigment of the hair tends to show through even though it’s underneath. While these dark areas are mostly problematic for women with facial hair, they can be problematic for men as well. Many men shape-up their beard and are left with the shadow-like look where they shaved which can be frustrating because it can have a “scruffy” appearance. Regardless whether you are a man who women who wants to get rid of your 5 o’clock shadow, we can help with laser hair removal!

Is laser hair removal for you?

This is one of the most popular services that women take advantage of and the post popular services for men. Women shave so often, it reduces the time it takes to rid unwanted hair. Laser hair removal for men is so popular because of razor burn, ingrown hairs and the hairline that grows faster than the haircut! Plus, it’s a huge time saver for men who shave their back or chest.

Outside of the convenience factor, laser hair removal is a great option for different skin tones and hair types. At Alazzo Med Spa, we use two different lasers and three different wavelengths so we can adapt to you and your specific hair texture as well as your specific skin tone. During your free consultation an expert consultant will discuss your options and recommend a laser that is right for you.

Is Laser Hair Removal effective?

Yes, laser hair removal drastically reduces hair growth, to the point where shaving is no longer necessary in most cases. Aside from using it to rid your 5 o’clock shadow, you can get it done anywhere on the body. It can also cover large areas like the legs and back.

Fellas: did you know…

Laser hair removal is ideal for shaping facial hair? Since it’s so effective on thinning our hair, it can be perfect for those spots in constant need of trimming. It’s possible to clean up the neck, another common site for ingrown hairs, those pesky hairs around the beard and mustache and even the tops of the cheeks.

2 Services for Better Skin in 2016

Is better skin one of your new year resolutions? If so, here are 2 services that we provide for better skin in 2016.

  1. Laser Hair Removal

When people hear the words “Laser Hair Removal” they typically think about getting rid of unwanted hair. While this is the goal for many, it’s not the goal for all. Some people elect to get laser hair removal because of constant irritation, razor burn and folliculitis. When getting laser hair removal, the color of the hair follicle absorbs the laser’s light or energy and pulls it down to the root of the hair follicle cutting off the blood supply that allows the hair to grow. By eliminating the hair at the root, the hair can no longer be trapped which prevents folliculitis and the need for shaving no longer exists. By eliminating folliculitis, razor burn and general irritation, your skin will look and feel much better.

  1. Intense Pulse Light (IPL) Therapy

If you’re trying to rid your uneven skin tone, sun damage, age spots, rosacea and/or hyperpigmentation, IPL Therapy would be a great choice for you. IPL Therapy uses a broad spectrum of light that selectively targets broken blood vessels and irregular pigmentation. The energy of the light is absorbed by the blood vessel, which is absorbed by the body once treated, and by the darkened pigmentation, which is brought to the surface of the skin and exfoliated. Before receiving treatment, we will evaluate your skin to be sure that the best skin care plan is formulated for you giving you optimal results.

At Alazzo Med Spa, you won’t just enjoy the benefits of these two services. Whenever we provide any services, especially those that improve skin, we are always helping you monitor your skin. As medical professionals, we may see something that is abnormal that you may not be aware of and as a result may recommend that you see your doctor. By having our skilled professionals monitoring your skin along your side, you’ll be sure to follow through on your best skin-tentions for 2016. To schedule a free consultation to see how we can help you get better skin, visit our website or give us a call at 301.810.5740.

The Lumenis Light sheer is another laser used here at the spa.  It also has a chilling system called the chill tip to provide a cooling affect.  The Light sheer is ideal for our lighter to medium toned skin types.
Just about anyone can have laser hair removal with the right consultation; we even offer laser hair removal for men.  At our free consultation, we will assess your skin and check your medical history and medications.  The best candidate for Laser hair removal is someone with dark hair and lighter skin.  Those who may not fit this discription do not get discouraged.  It may take more treatments at appropriate settings.  This is why Alazzo is so special in the packages we offer.  Initially, everyone will need at least 6 treatments every so many weeks a part.  We realize that everyone is different and may need more treatments so on top of a 6 treatment package we offer lifetime maintenance after the first 6 treatments. For every 15 mins of treatment time a nominal fee is charged.  Hair growth is caused by different medication, conditions, hormonal changes.  We want our clients to be able to experience anywhere from 60% to 80% reduction.  With our knowledge, experience, equipment and interest for your self improvement we will surely be able to fulfill any of your specific needs!
